Quik|TxT is a portable messaging feature that allows you to send or receive text messages with your Cellcom digital phone. In addition, you can receive breaking news, weather updates, e-mail and more.

How do I get Quik|TxT?
If you have a compatible Cellcom digital phone, you already have Quik|TxT! You just need to be in a Cellcom digital area and you will be able to send & receive messages. Cellcom also offers pay-as-you-use or packages of messages. All incoming messages are FREE!

Who can I send Quik|TxT messages to?
If you have a two-way capable digital handset and you are in a Cellcom digital area, you can send messages to most other text messaging subscribers, even to those who subscribe to a different wireless provider.

Sending Text Messages

E-mail to Handset
It is no different then sending traditional e-mail messages. Simply type the 10-digit mobile number of the Cellcom phone that has Quik|TxT service followed by @cellcom.quiktxt.com.

*Remember when sending a message, all 10-digits of the phone number must be used.

Website to Handset
Go to www.quiktxt.com, fill in the 10-digit mobile number, your message, from, and callback/reply; then click “Send Message”.

Handset to Handset
If you have added the Quik|TxT service and own a two-way capable digital handset, you will be able to send messages to most other text messaging subscribers, even those who subscribe to a different wireless provider. Please read your phone user manual to determine the correct procedure for sending a message to another phone using a phone number.

Handset to e-mails
(includes handsets that have e-mail addresses)
If you have a capable phone and Quik|TxT you can send a message to any e-mail address. That also includes sending a message to another phone that has an e-mail address.

Messaging Software
Tap Access: Messages can be sent to a TAP interface using a modem to dial out to our messaging center. Refer to our website for modem settings and access numbers.

Message Length
Maximum message length is 640 characters, which includes header, name and call back number or e-mail. Any messages over 160 characters will split into multiple messages.
(note: 300 characters could split into 2 or 3 messages and received as part 1 of 3, part 2 of 3, etc. After 640 characters your message will cut-off – at that point, your message is beyond capacity)

Receiving Text Messages

Your phone will alert you when you have received a text message. Visual displays and sounds vary by phone model.

• When a message is received, you can either read it promptly or hit exit and the message will be stored. Once a message is read, you can save it or erase it.
• To respond to a message you have recently read, simply hit reply. It automatically replies to the person who originally sent you the message. (Cannot reply to messages sent from the web.)

How to read text messages
Menu options vary by phone model. Refer to your phone user manual for instructions on how to read text messages.

Retention Period
If your phone is turned off, your phone’s memory is full, or you are outside of the digital service area, the network will store and resend any messages received for up to 72 hours. Messages not delivered after 72 hours will be deleted.
